Capture, Editing and Post-Production
-
There are a large array of FOSS video capture, editing and post-production tools out there. Unfortunately the high level of development required for these tools means few really compete with their proprietary counterparts. HyperEngine-AV for Mac is one program that is certainly up to the task. We haven't included a serious editing program for Windows as we didn't feel the programs we surveyed we sufficiently up to scratch, however minimal editing is possible with programm like Virtual Dub. Editing video on Linux is also not as easy as it should be but some basic editing is possibly using Kino.
